Rainbow Parade / 11 June 2022
The Rainbow Parade is an important political demonstration for the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer people. The HOSI Vienna calls on all marchers and bystanders to bring banners, signs, t-shirts, etc. to express their messages!
On 11 June 2021 the Viennese Pride Parade will pass along Wiener Ringstrasse the for the 26th time. Lesbian, gay, bi, straight, trans, cis, inter and queer people will march for acceptance, respect and equal rights in Austria, Europe and around the world.
After a year of COVID-related break and a spectacular comeback with only marchers, 2022 the Pride Parade returns to the Ringstrasse in its full size with marchers and trucks. Let’s set a strong and self-confident sign of diversity and solidarity!
from 11.30 a.m.
from 6.30 p.m.
Times may be subject to change.
The participating groups will gather on Saturday, 11 June 2022, from 11.30 a.m. near the Rathausplatz (City Hall Square).
The Pride Parade starts at 1 p.m. and moves along the Ringstrasse in the opposite direction of traffic. The front of the parade is expected back at Rathaus at about 5 p.m..
The final rally with speeches by activists and politicians will take place from 6.30 p.m. at Rathausplatz. During the rally, there will also be the moment of remembrance, where we pause for a minute to remember those people who can no longer be with us because they have died from HIV/AIDS or have been victims of a hate crime because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
We cordially invite all people to march with us. The more people we are, the more visible the message we send. The parade is free for the public to attend and does not require registration.
Groups who would like to participate “officially” in the Rainbow Parade, as well as entries with floats and vehicles must register for the Rainbow Parade!
