Since 2001, the LGBTIQ community has been nailing its colour to the mast every year before the Rainbow Parade by equipping all of Vienna’s tram lines with rainbow flags. The rainbow flag is not only a symbol of the community but also makes Vienna a bit more colourful and diverse.

Due to COVID-19-related restrictions, Vienna Pride 2020 will not take place to the usual extent. Nevertheless, we are working on increasing the visibility of LGBTIQ people, especially in the Pride month (June), and we are happy that we were able to ensure, among other things, that Vienna’s tram lines will be equipped with rainbow flags again. This campaign is an important part of Vienna Pride as it increases the LGBTIQ community’s visibility in the public sphere. Wiener Linien’s support enables us to make Vienna even more colourful.

For 30 days, from 1 June to 30 June 2020, 450 trams on 28 Viennese tram lines will be flying rainbow flags.

The flagging of the Viennese trams with the rainbow flag is an important sign of the diversity of our city. Especially this year, when big parts of the pride can’t take place, it’s very important to show the rainbow flag on the streets of Vienna.

This is what we live for in all the companies of the DOTS Group and we are looking forward to celebrating together and setting important signals. Not only for COVID-19 applies: #oneforallallforone
